The Compensation Design History
CompDesign or its legal name, The Compensation Design Corporation, was established in 1987 by its current president, George K. Reese, Jr. George, a general agent with Connecticut Mutual at that time, created this separate entity to provide IRS required compliance and reporting services in the areas of retirement plan and cafeteria plan administration for his clients and the clients of his sales associates.
While the administrative services arm expanded dramatically during the next 15 years, George continued his work with selected clients in the areas of income and capital replacement. Many of these clients have maintained their insurance with George for more than 40 years and still count on his advice in both business and personal matters. While the agency is no longer offering direct service in the health care and IRS Qualified Retirement Plan arenas, the relationships of almost 50 years gives our clients access to professional expertise in the legal accounting and investment fields.
Matthew Friedson, a graduate of the University of Maryland, chose the financial services industry as his career in 2006. Matthew specializes in the applications of life, disability, and long term care insurance for businesses, estates, and individuals. His work consists of educating clients, helping them develop proper strategies, and implementation of strategies. Matthew recently embarked on the road to becoming a credited financial service professional though a study program with the American College which leads to the designation of a Chartered Life Underwriter, CLU.
In early 2008, Mr. Friedson brought his expertise of the insurance arena to CompDesign and joined forces with George. He is now working in tandem with George to provide the next generation of support and service to our valued existing clients and new clients alike. Matthew is an avid traveler and has been to roughly 30 countries around the world including living in Eastern Europe for 6 months. He also enjoys family time, fine dining, and sports.
